Privacy Policy

Overview

Tingbo: PPT Notes Reader (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is an iOS app that reads the speaker notes in your presentations aloud, slide by slide, to help you rehearse before you present.

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information the App collects and how it is handled. In short: the App is designed to keep your presentations and notes on your own device, and we do not collect, sell, or share any personal information.

Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not require you to create an account. We do not collect:

• Your name, email address, or any contact information.
• Your location, contacts, or photos.
• Any analytics, usage tracking, or advertising identifiers.
• Any content of your presentations or speaker notes.

Local Processing by Default

Your presentation files and speaker notes are processed on your device. Imported presentations, slide images, and notes are stored locally in the App’s storage so you can reopen them anytime. Reading the notes aloud uses the built-in iOS text-to-speech on your device.

Presentation Conversion

To render every page of a PPT or PPTX file as a slide image, the App may perform a conversion step:

• Local conversion (default): The App connects to a conversion service running on your own local network (for example, a service on your Mac). Your file is sent over your local network and is not transmitted to any third party.
• Cloud conversion: When a presentation needs remote rendering, the current iOS build requests a conversion job through a Cloudflare Worker, then uploads the selected file directly to CloudConvert. The file is used only to complete the conversion you requested and is not used for any other purpose.

Your file is never used for advertising, profiling, or anything other than the conversion you explicitly trigger.

Third-Party Services

When cloud conversion is used, Cloudflare handles the job request and CloudConvert receives the selected presentation to create the rendered result. These services receive only the information and file needed for that operation. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may process standard server logs (such as your IP address) in accordance with GitHub’s privacy practices.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your imported presentations remain stored locally in the App. You can delete any presentation from your history at any time. To remove all data, delete the App from your device, which removes its locally stored content.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
