Tingbo Android Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Tingbo for Android handles your presentations, speaker notes, and related data. Tingbo lets you import presentations, view slides, edit and hear speaker notes, and export files. The app is intended for users aged 13 and older. It does not require a Tingbo account, display advertisements, or offer in-app purchases.

1. Presentations and data on your device

When you import a presentation through Android's file picker, Tingbo reads the selected file and saves a working copy in app storage. This can include the original file, slide images, presentation name, import time, speaker notes, your note edits, and presentation history. The app also stores local preferences, such as whether a playback guide has been shown, and caches used for narration and export.

This data supports opening and displaying presentations, narration, editing, history, and export. Exported files are saved to the destination you choose through the system file picker. That destination may be managed by your device or a cloud file service you select.

2. Online file conversion

When a presentation requires online conversion or rendering, Tingbo uploads the entire selected presentation, potentially including its text, images, speaker notes, and other embedded content. The upload is not limited to the file name or the slide currently displayed. Cloudflare and CloudConvert provide services that convert the file into a format the app can read or display and return the result.

On Android, the original file is forwarded through a Cloudflare Worker to CloudConvert. The converted result is also returned through the Worker. Only upload presentations and personal information you are entitled to use in this way.

CloudConvert temporarily stores files. Its API documentation states that jobs and their data are automatically deleted 24 hours after completion. Logs have a separate lifecycle: its policy describes IP addresses, User-Agent, access times, possible IP-derived broad location and service statistics, with log retention of 180 days. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, routing, request, and system information while providing network and conversion-interface services. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. Providers may process data outside your country or region, depending on their configurations and routing.

3. Android text-to-speech

Tingbo sends speaker-note text to the Android text-to-speech engine enabled on your device to create narration. The app may prepare audio for the current and nearby slides when a presentation opens, the page changes, or notes are updated. The engine may therefore process text before you tap Play.

Whether synthesis takes place entirely on your device depends on the engine, voice, and settings. Network-based voices may send note text and related request data to the engine provider, whose privacy policy applies to that processing. You can inspect or change your engine and voices in Android's text-to-speech settings. Tingbo does not promise offline narration on every device. 4. System backup and device transfer

If you enable system backup or device transfer, Android or your device manufacturer may back up, transfer, or restore eligible app data, including stored presentations and preferences. This depends on your system version, device, account, and settings. It is separate from Tingbo's conversion service. Manage these copies through your device and backup-provider settings. 5. Retention and deletion

You can delete an imported presentation from the app's history. This removes the corresponding presentation copy, edited notes, and history entry stored by the app. It does not necessarily clear every previously generated narration or export cache.

Android's app-storage settings let you clear Tingbo's cache or app data. Exported files, originals in other file services, and system backups must be managed separately. Deleting a presentation in the app does not send an immediate deletion request to the conversion provider. Provider files and logs follow their respective retention rules.

For information about processing or assistance with deletion, contact m15568817011@163.com. Describe your request and the relevant time period; you do not need to attach the entire presentation in your initial message. We will verify the request and the data we can actually act on, and explain the available steps.

6. Support correspondence

If you email us for support or with a privacy request, we receive your email address, message, and any materials you choose to attach. We use them to handle your request. Avoid including personal information that is unrelated to your issue.

7. Younger users

Tingbo is intended for people aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to the service, contact the email above so the situation can be reviewed and addressed. Applicable local requirements concerning parental involvement still apply to younger users.

8. Security and policy changes

The online conversion design uses HTTPS endpoints. This does not mean end-to-end encryption or prevent the conversion service from accessing the presentation it processes. Text-to-speech, device backup, and other system services you choose have their own technical and privacy settings.

We will update this policy and its effective date when features or data handling change. Where a change requires additional notice or consent, the relevant feature will provide that information separately.

9. This website

This privacy page is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may process standard connection logs under GitHub’s privacy statement. The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for visits, referral sources, and page performance. It does not use analytics cookies or track visitors across websites.
